Sony Tablet S
Given the success that Apple had with their iPad it was of course just a matter of time before Sony got into the tablet game. The product that they have introduced is the Tablet S which is one definitely one of the more unique designs for a tablet. They have largely taken a different approach than their competitors, it remains to be seen just how well it works out for them.
The Sony Tablet S is pretty easy to spot given that it has a wedge shape that makes it look different from its competitors. The shape does have a few advantages, the biggest being that it makes it easier to hold in your hand. It also ensures that if you put it on a flat surface the screen will be at an angle that is easier to read than if it was flat. The downside to wedge shape however that is it does make the Tablet a little wider than other products. The screen is a little bit smaller than you will find in most competitors but it does provide a very good picture quality.
The Sony Tablet S runs on the Android operating system which has proven to be one of the best options available. Anything that you could do with an Android smart phone can be done better with the Tablet. In addition there are a number of apps that were developed just for this product. These would include Sony's eReader which is an excellent option for reading ebooks. There is also access to both video and music downloads from Sony. Perhaps the best feature is that the Tablet is PlayStation certified and runs emulator software so that you can play games on the tablet.
One of the great things about a tablet that is built by Sony is that it takes advantage of the technology that they put into their other products. The screen for example uses the technology that they use on the televisions so it provides outstanding picture quality. The camera that comes on the Tablet uses the technology from Sony's digital cameras and as a result can produce by far the best picture that you are going to find on any tablet.
The Sony Tablet is one of the more interesting ones to come on the market. Unlike a lot of competitors who have followed the same design Sony have decided to come up with something that is all their own. They have created a very good tablet and one of the few that could be a real threat to the iPad. That being said they have also introduced a fairly high priced tablet at a time when other companies are dramatically reducing the price of theirs. This may or may not prove to be a successful approach it will take time to tell.
